The Kershaw Fatback offers a slim design unlike its bacon inspired name. Fatback does not apply to the shape of the knife but rather to the mouth watering appeal this knife creates. The drop point blade has a dagger inspired shape and a durable black oxide coating. A Glass filled nylon handle provides a grippy texture and a lightweight structure that is comfortable to use and carry. The blade flipper activates Kershaw's SpeedSafe mechanism for rapid blade deployment. Includes a fully reversible pocketclip for a variety of carrying options. The Kershaw Fatback offers a tasty design that will satisfy any knife craving.
Please note: I just purchased two of these for my daughters, so I have only inspected these. That being said, this is a REALLY cool knife for the money!! Very sharp out of the box. No play in the blade. Weight feels good. Speedsafe action is smooth. Jimping is perfect. I believe these are going to be fantastic gifts! Kershaw is my main company for affordable EDCs. Therefore, I have faith in what I’m seeing upon arrival of these Fatbacks. Running a bit late this year on Christmas shopping and Blade HQ saved me again! Great company!
When I used to work night shift this was always my edc. Deep carry, light weight, and very snappy action. Centering could've been better but otherwise really good.
This was the knife (and company) that started my knife addiction! I fell in love with the unique shape of the knife so I decided to try it out, and I do not regret it at all. Deploys fast thanks to the speed safe, blade came perfectly centered, no blade play, and it feels solid in the hand. Definitely worth every dollar!
Great knife for the money! Feels good in the hand. Good, quick opening. Sharp blade.
I needed an economical, lightweight knife that would have plenty of blade, but also small in the pocket (summer/ shorts). For the price, this piece can't be beat. Great action, solid lockup, centered blade, deep carry - with plenty of room in the pocket, and excellent ergos...all the jimping is in the right places. Really pleased with this knife.
I find that I carry this knife probably more than any other in my collection for EDC. I could play with the Kershaw Speedsafe opening mechanism all day. Honestly, it is just a great budget everyday knife. Cuts well, sharpens easy. I beat the crap out of this thing and don't think twice about it.
For how little money I spent on this knife it is pretty darn good. To my hands, this knife is very comfortable. The steel is perfectly fine for this knife. Sharpens up easy and I don't worry about using/abusing it. I like the blade profile, and this knife has an authoritative assist opener. Pretty happy. It is thick in the pocket, but my guess is that is why it is so comfortable to my hands.
I've had this Kershaw for just over a year and have put a good amount of use into it. I work in an environment where I'm constantly breaking down boxes and cutting them open. This knife's steel (8Cr13MoV) is good enough for the use I put into it. The assisted opening makes it easy for one handed use. Its a good tactical knife for the price.
Bought this as a backup carry for my off hand. It's my first flipper so I'm still getting used to it. The liner lock is a bit difficult to get at and will eat your nail a bit. Also, I can see the jimping wearing out your pocket if you are using it a lot. Still, I consider this a good purchase, especially with the tip up or down, right or left carry flexibility.
