Kershaw's most recent automatic knife offering, the Launch Series, is simply superb. These knives have a compelling design, fast action, high-performance materials, and they're made in the USA!
Each of the Launch models features a stylish and unique integral backspacer pattern where the two pieces of aluminum connect with the USA flag laser-engraved on the back side of the handle. In tandem with the reversible tip-up carry pocket clip, the Launch 1 model is outfitted with a pass-through hole hidden at the base on the handle for lanyard attachment.
This Launch 3 has a black DLC coated CPM-154 steel blade with a slight upper bevel. The blue anodized aluminum handle has a black finished pocket clip, hardware, and bulls-eye ring pattern firing button.
I've had this knife over 3 years and the push button still works perfectly. A little maintenance a couple times a year has really paid off. I customized mine a little adding a titanium deep pocket clip then sanded the edges of the frame with an abrasive pad and it looks awesome. Looks like 2 different blues now. And with the do pocket clip, you can't see the knife at all. I didn't care for the stock clip. I get compliments on it so the time. Hopefully they start making then again so I can get a different color.
Gets my vote for best EDC hands down. I started out my auto collection with this and a boker strike plus. The Kershaw Lauch is in a whole other world/ forget lane. The fit and finish of the blade, the ergonomics of the handle as well as the weight and balance... and don't let me even mention the action on this lil' beast, snappy as a hungry tiger fish. Although the satin finish will scratch and blemish fairly easily, I want to keep this knife forever as my entry to pocket edcs so this isn't a big deal for me, but if this was for every day pocket carry, I would get different scales.
This knife is great. I love the size and especially the fact it's pretty slim, fits great in the pocket! I will likely get another one soon.

The launch 4 gets ALL the glory from this series, but the 3 is a slick knife. The fit and finish is tight, i love the simple lines of the handle, and the blade is a great shape. I'm not an auto knife guy, but this is a fantastic knife.

My first order from BladeHQ and it certainly won't be my last. Fast shipping and the knife is excellent in fit, finish and quality . Deploys well and locks up solidly. Only one small issue and that is the jimping is a bit "sharp" and uncomfortable. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.

Love the knife- the automatic action is lightning-fast and the quality and construction are top-notch. I've been wanting an automatic Kershaw for a while as I normally carry a Leek and was excited to add a "switch" to my collection. Everything about this knife is awesome with one small exception- the stonewash finish on the aluminum handle is soft and scratches pretty easily. On its first day, it came into contact with my money clip and got a scar. Other than that, 5 stars all around.
Nice knife for the money, tight fit all the way around. One thing is don't limp wrist this knife it will not lock up if you do and when you press the button don't hold it down or it won't lock up. 3 3/4 stars.
