Kizer Azo Baby Fixed Blade Knife Natural G-10 (3.5" Satin) 1044C2

The Baby is an Azo design from Kizer. The name is a little misleading with this fixed blade! This Baby is packed with great features. Its blade has a tall flat grind for ideal cutting and slicing performance. The handle is natural G-10 with a full-tang construction that balances the weight throughout the blade and prevents any bending that could occur otherwise. The deep belly drop point blade has a satin finish and is made out of 154CM blade steel. A lanyard hole is cut out at the base of the handle. Get yourself an EDC fixed blade!

I had to dremel the opening of the sheath a little because the blade locked too tightly at first. Other than that, it’s a great every-day blade for scout carry.

As Good As I Hoped For

I had been looking at a decent mid-range EDC fixed blade for some time, and had narrowed it down to the Baby and the Viper Berus, both with the Jade G-10 handles. I still believe that the M390 steel on the Berus might be a bit better, but the 154CM steel on the Baby was certainly in play. I opted for the Baby, and I don't regret it for a minute. The blade was actually a bit more hefty than I anticipated (guess I could've pulled out the ruler before I ordered it). The jimping is well done and comfortable, and provides added purchase on the blade. I love everything about the Baby...except the sheath and the belt loop snaps. I haven't yet been able to find a comfortable fitting on my belt when the snap closures don't come unsnapped at some point. That was very disappointing; however, I have ordered a custom sheath from a local leather smith. In between time, I have used a 100+ year old sheath for an antique Marble's skinner. The leather smith just sent his drawings, and I'm really excited. You cannot go wrong with this blade.

I like the Knife okay but the sheath I received is slightly larger and includes a clip rather than the soft loops which I’d prefer.
