Description:
Begleiter comes from the German language meaning "companion." Designed for those who prefer a slim profile, the Begleiter delivers. This is the Begleiter XL and its the larger version of the original knife. The handle is inset from the liners and keeps this knife incredibly lightweight and subtle in the pocket. It has an open-build with two barrel spacers on either side of the elongated lanyard hole. The EDC-ready design includes a reversible tip-up carry clip. A caged ball bearing pivot ensures a smooth and reliable action. The craftsmanship of the Kizer Begleiter is finished off completely by hand for sharpening, quality inspection, and is put to the test. Kizer Cutlery strives to bring the best knives forward while keeping them affordable.

I love this knife, surprisingly it is my first in 154 cm steel so we'll see how that goes. I was bummed when this one didn't come in BD1 like my other begleiter but so far so good. It's so nice to have another large folder in my collection. As far as large knives go up to now my favorite to carry is the Coldsteel Recon 1 and this knife has edged it out for having nearly the reach on the blade combined with the flipper action and button lock. Much more fidget friendly than the Recon 1 and also a bit lighter weight which isn't a deal breaker either way. The only minor critique I have and it is very minor is the detent could be a little bit stiffer; when flicking it closed the blade tends to bounce out a bit.
