The Splinter is a collaboration with Kizer and Tomcat Knives. This elegant gentleman's folder features a contoured and textured titanium handle with an S35VN steel blade. Ceramic ball bearings allow for super smooth opening with the integrated blade flipper. A titanium frame lock provides a reliable lock up of the blade with minimal blade play. There is a natural stonewash finish on the blade and the handle is equipped with a custom pivot, lanyard hole and a reversible titanium pocket clip. The Kizer Splinter offers the slim profile and durable construction that are essential to a good EDC knife.
This is my first Kizer and I am so far very impressed with the quality and design of the knife, thanks Blade Hq!
I have quite a few Kizer knives and I needed a smaller, thin knife to carry in business environments and the Splinter fit the bill. But sadly, I have returned it. The movement was very smooth but if any pressure is placed on the frame lock, the blade will not open. When you pull it open, there is an audible 'click' where it's sticking. I oiled it and worked the motion a whole lot but it never improved. Also, the flipper tab is too small and there is no leverage to get past the sticky opening. Needs a little redesign.
