The Kizer V3 Vigor is a sleek folding knife from the Vanguard series of affordable, performance driven knives. It features a Bohler N690 stainless steel blade and G-10 handle scales. The Vigor has a simple, straightforward design that makes a great gentlemen's folder or a sturdy EDC blade. It has a liner lock handle with a tip-up pocket clip and a lanyard hole. The Kizer Vigor offers durable quality at an affordable price point. This version of the V3 Vigor has green colored G-10 handle scales and a satin finished blade.
This is my first Kizer knife and first dip into the more "premium" knives. My previous knife was a Rat II, which I loved. But I have to say this knife blows that one out of the water. Blade was centered perfect, razor sharp out of the box and the action is so smooth. I've had this for a month now and the edge is still holding. Since owning, this hasn't left my pocket.
This is my first knife from Kizer. The fit and finish is perfect from what I can see, lock up, blade centering, grind and sharpness. The green g10 looks and feels good. Deployment is smooth and it flys open. A deep carry pocket clip would be the only thing I change.
Second Kizer i've bought. The size of the handle is a little wider than i like for edc but that is preference, it fits in the pocket fine. The G-10 is not as "gripey" as micarta, more like a wooden handle. Green color is more olive and nicely done. Open design so be prepared for pocket lint. On the plus side, there is no disassembly required to clean, just hose it out. Blade opens smoothly with little effort and locks tight with no wobble. Steel stays sharp and is not difficult to sharpen with a carbide. Nice blade depth and length, robust for its size. For this price it's a steal as an edc.
The V3 is a good all around working folder. All the material meet the price point and build quality is good. The only negative is the slight bit of recurve on the blade. It is just enough to be annoying and not enough to be a great recurve. That might be a design choice but this would be 5 stars without it.
I love the blade on this knife. For me however the handle did not ever feel right. Sharp edges and was always uncomfortable in pocket.
