Description

The MT-2 Slimline 2 fixed blade knife from Mantis was laser cut from a single slab of high carbon 420 series stainless steel. It was then black-oxide coated, then given its ever-ominous red “MANTIS” ellipse. These provide the user with better traction in slippery situations, as well as increase visibility to both user and enemy alike. Its sheath is configurable in a variety of ways, so whether you choose to wear this on suspenders, in your belt, or around your neck, you’re always prepared.

For the exception of the sharpened edge, the blade is comprised mostly of square edges. Feels fine in my hand, but I think rounded edges would make it a bit more comfortable in hand. A lookup on the steel indicates MoVa which looks to be commonly used in Spanish knife making. The knife came with a decent edge and the sheath fits well. Not an $80 knife to me. I'd put it more around .5 that.
Worst knife I've ever bought

The blade is made from a mystery looking steel but I still decided to give it a shot. Wish I trusted my gut. The blade came extremely dull and chisel ground. The handle is EXTREMELY uncomfortable no matter how its held. The exposed tang gives hot spots literally everywhere. I have spent thousands on knives in all categories and this item is absurdly priced. For 80$ this is an absolute rip off. If it cost 15$ I think I'd still give it 1 or maybe 2 stars. Nothing is wrong with bladeHQ, but I am never considering purchasing a Mantis knife ever again.
