Since I couldn't find any reviews online I thought I'd write one up based on my limited experience.

I've been carrying this knife around for the last few days using it for light-duty tasks including cutting up cardboard, opening boxes, slicing food. My review is based on it compared to other knives in its price range and size. I'd put this in the "utility slicer" knife category like the similarly-sized ESEE 3. I have not tried bending the tip or done any batoning etc. At 0.15" width this isn't a pry bar. It will take months to see how the edge holds up. Let's face it the main draw of this knife is the steel.

Pros:
- Compact size and sheath.
- Great sheath lockup. The way the dimples on the sheath grab into the countersunk handle hardware holes is great.
- Comfortable in hand with recessed lanyard attachment point.
- Doesn't scream tacticool
- V4E steel

The cons are kinda nitpicks, but this is a $190 knife with a lot of excellent competitors like the ESEE 3, Bark River Bravo 1 series, Falkniven F1 series, Bradford Guardian 3.5.

Cons:
- Spine jimping is too far forward on guardless model. The jimping on the model with the guard is in the right place but not on the guardless model.
- Sheath needs a flat section for your thumb to push off.
- Sheath rides too high. Not unique to the Baal but all sheaths like this using a belt lock.
- Weight balance is about where the middle handle screw is. Wonder if the tang could be lightened and move the center of balance to where the forefinger choil is.
- I wouldn't use this with thick winter gloves or heavy work gloves, any loose material on the forefinger would get chewed up on the blade. Mechanic style gloves or close fitting gloves would be fine.
