Medford production praetorian

First Medord, finally!! Been carrying as EDC for over a week now. Light for such big folder, solid lock up, razor sharp and solid in hand. Hope Greg Medford manufactures a production flipper in future. Shipping was fast too.
Behemoth that feels great in hand.

This is my first Medford, and is the largest, beefiest blade of all my folders. The closest comparison in my collection is the Microtech D.O.C. flipper, and if I had to choose betweet the two, I would take this Praetorian. The D.O.C. has a pocket clip that is uncomfortable, while this puppy feels PERFECT in hand.
Solid lockup, and no blade-play. These blades are intimidatingly large, and has an unusually light and comfortable feel even with severe jimping.

Read the instructions before using! Medford has a strict policy of NEVER oiling the pivot or you will void the warranty. They even advise in writing that the action is not too stiff, and not to break it in on the couch, but to allow a natural break-in over a week or two of normal usage. I'm not a lumberjack, just a knife nut who collects, and uses folders as fidget toys.

My unit was nearly impossible to deploy single-handedly with the "thumb groove" at first, but this has become better with break-in. I doubt this folder will ever get the nickname "Easy Action", but that's why it's called a Praetorian. This folder would be 7/5 Stars if the thumb groove was a hole. I'm used to positioning my thumb near the pivot, but single handed opening is facilitated by pushing the groove closer to the tip. Insofar as personal protection goes, I think ease of deployment is important, so this may be better suited for traditional hard use and two-handed opening in a pinch.
The titanium liner lock is terrific, and one handed closing is a breeze, unlike the D.O.C.

These will go fast in all likelihood since the entire package is a winner. Enjoy!
Perfect Edc!

This knife is a beast! You get a full MKT Praetorian, in a lighter package. Fits in the pocket with room to spare. The weight is balanced and not noticeable while in my pocket. I would highly recommend this knife ..
