In many ways, Microtech's Ultratech is the quintessential out-the-front (OTF) automatic knife. It boasts Microtech's superior double-action, allowing you to open or close the knife with one push on the thumb slide. Quality is evident in every aspect—from its top-shelf materials, to its flawless fit and finish, to its innovative, highly functional design. There is something undeniably satisfying—even thrilling—about operating an OTF knife like the Ultratech. It feels a little bad in a good way, and though it may seem extra to some, it allows one-handed accessibility that is remarkably practical. Whether youre looking for a knife to bet your life on, one to carry every day, or just one to expand your collection with, this knife will fit the bill and have you smiling.
The Ultratech has seen several iterations. This version offers a smooth, contoured handle with thoughtfully placed jimping to maximize comfort without compromising grip security; additionally, it won't chew up your pocket.

My first Microtech OTF. Great quality very sharp. Very happy with purchase. Only complaint was that I paid for two day shipping and it took six days to get it.
Great knife can never go wrong with a Microtech everyone I have run into or owned has been a great edc
Quality of this knife is super. Only issue I have was it's supposed to be double edged. Only one edge is sharp & if I don't send it back to Microtech to get sharpened it voids warranty .... & costs me $30....
I finally broke down and bought one. Gorgeous knife. Double edge sharpness! The satin finish is flawless. But goodness gracious is this thing incredibly difficult to open. I applied oil and worked on this thing for a month to no avail. If only it opened as smoothly as it closed. I've read in a couple of forums that they are often stiff and that you need to use them to build up your thumb strength. Uh, did I mention the month I spent doing that very thing? And the price of it is a deal-breaker for me. I'm pretty certain this will be my last Microtech unless I can pick up a decent used one in person.
