In many ways, Microtech’s Ultratech is the quintessential out-the-front (OTF) automatic knife. It boasts Microtech’s superior double-action, allowing you to open and close the knife with one push on the thumb slide. Quality is evident in every aspect—from its top-shelf materials, to its flawless fit and finish, to its innovative, highly functional design. There is something undeniably satisfying—even thrilling—about operating an OTF knife like the Ultratech. It feels a little bad in a good way, and though it may seem extra to some, it allows one-handed accessibility that is remarkably practical. Whether you’re looking for a pocket knife to bet your life on, one to carry every day, or just one to expand your collection with, this knife will fit the bill and have you smiling.
The Ultratech has seen several iterations. This version offers a smooth, contoured handle with thoughtfully placed jimping to maximize comfort without compromising grip security; additionally, it won't chew up your pocket.

Great knife with this style of blade I can sharpen very easily. Where my otf double edge is harder to sharpen. Love this knife for edc easy to open .I have read some have a difficult time closing . I have no problem. When dirty I use compressed air blow it out then use rem oil spray along in the front set upright over night rub dry and good for a few months. Great knife.
i love my microtech. it goes everywhere, and i mean everywhere with me. its a part of my everyday outfit. phone, wallet, keys, microtech. ive had to use it countless times while out and about, and it has never failed me.
I've had mine for around a year, and it's a regular in my edc rotation. It just kind of 'grew on me'-it's so darned convenient to deploy and retract, but honestly,I have a couple of otfs by Mntforged I gave around a hundred apeice for, that have just as good tolerances, lockups, and actions. The two things they don't have though,is m390,and the contoured edges on the handle the ultratech has,and that actually,is kind of a big deal-the ultratech feels so much better in hand, and although one of my mtnforged has s35,m390 just can't be beat when done right, and Microtech does it right
When I opened it out of the box I literally starred at it for a few minutes. Its build quality is second to none. Sharpest blade I have ever owned out of the box. Its just on another level to be honest..
Great knife. Glad I jumped on it since now I see its out of stock. Has become an excellent edc knife for me. Conceals deep with a very strong pocket clip. Action fires quick and smooth both ways. Very sharp edge as expected. Great quality worth every dollar.
I've had my eye on this for a long time. When I got the alert that it was back in stock I finally pulled the trigger and I'm happy I did. It comes razor sharp and It's fun to use. It's my new go-to EDC blade.
This is my first OTF and I have since purchased a couple of budget double-action OTFs. While some of the budget sub-$100 double-action OTFs have a good action and feel, the build quality and materials of the Ultratech definitely put it in a different tier. I love the "speckly" stonewash finish too.
The Microtech Ultratech is a classic OTF that has been in and out of my EDC for well over a year. And everyday that I've carried it, I always have a smile. It is an extreme fidget tool and a great knife. And I own the M390 version of this blade, and either way you go, you get a great steel. The edge lasts forever, and the folks at Microtech are awesome!!! Definitely recommend if its legal in your state and if you can afford it.
This was my first Microtech, and has an issue out of the box I did not expect to encounter. After reading other's comments about the excessive amount of force required to open or close the knife I decided they must have either gotten a lemon or were exaggerating. I don't know if I got a lemon or not, but after the first few actuations it takes two hands to close this knife. This excessive amount of force only applies to closing the knife, not opening it. I have many other OTFs in this same price range that never require anywhere near this amount of force to actuate, now also including a second Ultratech. I've followed Microtech's advice for lube and break-in, but the problem persists. While both fit and finish are truly awesome, turning my thumb into hamburger ruins my plan to make this my perfect EDC. Very disappointing for a $300+ knife. This is not at all what I expected from a brand new Ultratech.
