This knife is a great value for the money. US made and a decent steel. Feels great in the hand. The handle material seems very strong and it has a little "give" in it so it grips well and sure. There is the same model with a tan handle and I have it also. Just great values for not breaking the bank.
1095 is a good tough steel but not very corrosion resistant. But at this price point, this can't be beat.
