Awesome camp knife
fulton c. on Apr 8, 2022

Got this for the 2022 camping season. Stripped the black coating and acid washed it because personal taste but absolutely love it. Great for large hands is some esees are two small handles for you. Solid, reliable construction. Absolutely what I was looking for I also love my Becker bk2 but this is a little but more versatile if you do a lot of bushcraft and 1095 will always be a solid steel.

Very good value for your money!

First of all, BladeHQ you guys rock, super fast shipping and best prices. The handle is very comfortable, the blade is shaving sharp out of the box. The sheath is adequate and high quality but these days I'd prefer Kydex. The sheath has either a belt loop or Molle attachment on the back and has a rigid plastic insert so the sheath wont bend. My only "issue" with the knife is that the black coating is rough like powdercoat. I worry that when cutting it will collect material and it may be difficult to clean but use will see what happens. Very happy with the knife and is well worth the money.

A big, tasty blade for anything.

I bought this knife a while ago and paid some extra cash for some TKC handle scales and a TKC leather sheath, even if you do not intend to buy those and you just want a good quality survival knife, look no further. The Rat-7 is a little longer then the Esee 6 which is its very closely related younger brother, the Rat has a perfectly sized choil, and some good jimping on the spine which allows for some very good detail work, you can make some high quality feathersticks with this blade. The handle is a very good length for my medium-large hands. The length and weight of the blade makes for some very good chopping abilities, but it also makes it pretty heavy and if you are a bitch, then I wouldn't recommend it for every day carry, but it works fine for me.
