This Assisted RAT Model 1 features textured OD green G-10 scales and a satin finished AUS-8 stainless steel blade with a plain cutting edge.
The RAT Model 1 folder from Ontario Knife Company (OKC) has been incredibly popular. Now Ontario is offering the Model 1 with their patent-pending Tactical Assisted Opening (T.A.O.) technology. So, with the push of the thumb stud the blade deploys with ease.
This knife is designed for comfort and performance with an index finger groove on the handle to keep your hand where it should be and jimping on the spine of the blade for controlled cutting. The RAT Model 1 is fully ambidextrous with dual thumb studs and a 4-way reversible pocket clip.
This knife is rock solid. It deploys with authority and feels like a tool that's meant to be used. I'll be picking up a RAT Model 2 shortly.
I like the knife I'm just wondering why it isn't sharpened??
This is made for work. The profile may not be the most beautiful thing on earth but ergonomically it fits like a glove. Once you figure the proper thumb placement the action is pretty light and very snappy. I'd prefer a deeper pocket clip but with every carry location option available you really can't go wrong with this knife.
