For over 130 years, Opinel's been making knives and tools in the heart of the French Alps. Joseph Opinel started knifemaking in his workshop in 1890, and today they manufacture in their factory in Chambery, France. The Explorer folder has a stainless steel blade, a hook for hunting small game, a tick remover, and the Virobloc safety ring that locks the blade in the open and closed positions. The handle also has a pea-less whistle that is made to work in all weather conditions, so this knife is made for multiple uses when you're out in the woods. The Opinel pocket knife is lightweight and inexpensive while displaying simple sophistication. Even Picasso used an Opinel to carve his sculptures, so the knife has a famous history!
