This TR-5 automatic Operator model has a black anodized aluminum handle with a black back spacer/lanyard attachment, and a deep carry tip-up pocket clip. Its blade is made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel in a black finish. In Operator fashion, the push button has a tritium vial inlay and no branding anywhere on the knife. A sliding safety lock allows secure pocket carry and prevents accidental blade deployment.
Pro-Tech has added an automatic option to their TR-5 line. Similar in design to the TR-4 auto, the TR-5 is smaller and more pocket-friendly.
This is by far the Coolest knife I have ever owned. The snap, the ergos, the look. The powder coated pocket clip does get scratched but this is the case for all powder coated pocket clips and hardwear. Not enough to even drop a star
After years and years of watching and reading countless reviews I decided to finally purchase my first Pro-Tech knife and settled on the TR-5. After searching for availability I landed on Pro-Tech's FB page and saw that they were releasing a TR-5 Operator so I waited and I am here to tell you that I am glad I did. This guy is everything I wanted it to be. It's beautiful, the action is amazing, and every last detail is on point. Hats off to Pro-Tech and whoever is leading their QC team because this is how every knife should be out of the box, perfect. Also, a huge shoutout to BladeHQ for having this in stock, for 2 seconds but in stock nonetheless, and the ultra fast shipping. I usually hate buying things online and it's my first time buying from Blade HQ but they made it pretty seamless and easy. 10/10 would recommend both Pro-Tech and Blade HQ!
