Description

This Aegis AT-XR features a forest green handle and a gray blade.

The Aegis Mk3 takes the tried and true Aegis design and makes it even better. Geared toward the outdoorsman, this knife has the assisted ATXR lock for added strength and usability, and a cyrogenically heat treated D2 blade. It opens wicked fast using the thumb stud and the assisted action. The textured GRN handle provides a great grip while keeping the weight down. The deep belly of the blade makes slicing and skinning tasks easy.

Features:
  • Tough D2 blade is strong and resists wear.
  • GRN handle is light and rugged.
  • Reversible deep carry clip and a lanyard hole.

I'm enjoying this knife but there are a few things that I don't like about it. First off the colors for this series is terrible, the green is the least flashy so that's what I bought. I'm a simple man, a basic black would be perfect for me. Next up the blade honestly feels small compared to the handle. It just feels/seems off to me, like they left the blade shorter for some reason. Besides all of that, it works great. The locking is good, the safety is built so it's not annoying. The pocket clip however was. Besides the screws not being flat and sticking up to grab your pocket, the clip itself isn't comfortable and seems a bit off to me. This knife will be a decent bug-out bag item, unfortunately, I have many knives better for EDC than this one. So it won't be in the rotation long and may be gifted to a friend. Don't get me wrong, I like the knife but for EDC they really screwed the pocket clip and the way it goes in your pocket. The first time I put it in my pocket it tore the side of the pants because the screws stick too far out. I tried to tighten them more but they're all the way down, they just made a terrible choice on the type screws they used.
