This Flash II (FSA-98) has an AUS-8 stainless steel blade with a partially serrated edge and a satin finish. The lightweight black glass-reinforced nylon handle is durable and features a diamond non-slip texture.

The SOG Flash II represents super quality at an affordable price. Automatic knives not your thing? Try a spring assisted knife! As you push the thumb stud SOG's Spring Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) takes over and smoothly and quickly deploys the blade. The Flash II blade is easy to release from the open position with the sliding button on the handle that disengages the piston lock mechanism. Another great feature on the Flash II is the side mounted safety tab to prevent a misfire.

Decent enough, but not great.

Well, I guess the easiest way to do this is just to list pros and cons.

- Cool, rugged, military-ish design
- Fun thumb stud assisted open action, nice and quick deployment.
- Lock is sturdy plunge lock
- I enjoy the shape of this blade, it is fun to cut stuff with and the serrations are useful.
- Deep carry pocket clip is really deep in the pocket.

- Steel isn't great, its AUS-8
- Made in Taiwan (NOT JAPAN) it says right on the box it came in.
- Handle material, feels pretty cheap and plastic-y
- Deep carry pocket clip is a major hot spot when held. It pretty much ruins the way it feels in the hand because you have this sharp clip digging right into your palm.

So overall 3/5, not a great knife. Probably the only knife I've ever regretted purchasing.
