The SOG Knives SOG-TAC AU is a slim automatic knife with an exciting XR Lock opener. By just pulling it down like you would to normally disengage it, the blade will spring open and lock into place. To engage the safety, simple push the lock up instead of down. Instead of adding an annoying extra step to opening this knife, it simply makes opening it require more force, drastically reducing unintentional blade deployment. For an automatic knife that's lightweight, well-built, and affordable, go with the SOG-TAC AU.

It's very user friendly since it has combined lock'n'fire button.
This is a great, lightweight, and thin EDC auto. My example has none of the problems listed by other reviewers. The blade is centered and the deployment action is quick and smooth! I will be picking up the drop point version when it’s available, as well. Recommended!
Let's put this thing in perspective—$150 is a lot to pay for a small folder, and that price tag demands quality materials (S30V at the very least), immaculate action and fit, and many years of solid reliability under regular use. To charge $150 for D2 which belongs on $40-50 knives is BEYOND ridiculous and there is nothing that can excuse it. If you want a quality and time-tested knife in D2 that will serve you for years, get a Rat 1 for $40, it's superior in every way.
I have several SOG knifes and have no complaints. Except for this one I purchased from BladeHQ. The blade was extremely dull, would not it even cut paper. I tried to put an edge on it and still not as sharp as I would like. Im very disappointed with the quality control of this particular knife. I would have returned it, but since I had it engraved I cannot send it back. SOG would not let me post this negative review on their website.
