The Spyderco Rock Lobster is an original design from Danish designer Jens Anso; in fact, it was his first design turned into a production knife. In the years since its release, has since become a cult classic. The blade's unique sheepsfoot profile gives the knife impressive tip strength without sacrificing slicing performance. The iconic handle design features a deep finger choil, letting your index and middle finger sit deeper in the handle, positioning the edge at the optimal angle for cuts against a flat surface.

Spyderco makes knives from a large assortment of designers. There's a model to fit every activity and style.

dig the rock lobster
Erik W. on Jun 5, 2021

above avg collection... few four figure folders... most the modern classics...few real unique ones too. Pics/vid don’t do this knife justice...like viewing Alaska trip on an old cell phone. This is one masculine and sexy knife. Long lean chiseled but thick. Old school liner lock. New school scales. Lot happening here. Brad Pitt Fight Club stuff. Fit/finish leave room for improvement... overall 4.5 for me.

Different but awesome!

Mine arrived today. I was on the fence about buying one as I hadn't handled it before. I got it simply b/c I really like the satin / jade bhq exclusive Spyderco's and wanted this in my collection. Action reminded me of the slysz bowie, lock-up was solid, and the blade on mine was perfectly centered.

Rock Lobster Rocks

I bought the lobster on a whim and totally lucked out. Fits my hands and cutting style perfectly. Mine was not centered out of the box, but was easy to fix. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to center the blade. Fingers crossed for a DLC M4 version one day!

Nice knife but rubbing
Kyle P. on May 18, 2021

Excitedly picked this guy up as soon as I saw it go live and am overall happy with the knife. However there is some rubbing of the blade stock on the frame near the pivot. Might work itself out in the future...

Blade Centering
Donald N. on Jul 1, 2021

Got the mail from Blade HQ that this knife was in stock and ordered right away. (Been wanting this one for along time.) Opened the box and just shook my head at how bad the blade centering was. The centering was not not just off a bit it was rubbing the scale so bad I forced it over with my finger when closing. Come on Blade HQ, 90%+ of the people who buy this knife are going to put it in their collection; it is just not a great ergo knife nor is it anything special in regards to an EDC. Knowing that (or at least you should) check the quality of these knives before you ship them out. Spyderco, you dropped the ball on this one big time; if you are going to sub-contract knives you need to make sure they are built to your standards. If you are going to do retro-runs then the need to be as good or better than the originals. Sending this one back and we will see what shows up on the 2nd try.
