Building off the three-dimensional "stepped" pattern of the Chaparral 3, the Blue Stepped model features a blue anodized handle that is machined a second time to reveal a brilliant pattern of alternating colored layers
The Chaparral 3 has a stepped titanium handle with a mid-positioned back lock and screw-together construction. Attached to the ultra-slim handle, a left-right, tip-up pocket clip arranges the knife deeply inside a pocket. CTS-XHP stainless steel blade. The blade is flat ground and plain edged for the best available cutting performance with non-skid jimping located at both the spine and choil.
A Chaparral is a shrub native to the Western United States with the unique ability to perennially survive, revive and regenerate after being destroyed by drought. Its also what Spyderco calls a new and continuing series of gentlemens folders. Mid-sized Chaparral folders have identical blade and handle profiles but showcase various handle materials. Handle options will be chosen for their elegant appearance and functional utility with a focus directed at making the Chaparral series unique as well as a serious contender in the gentleman's knife genre.
Perfect gentlemens folder thats not a slip joint. Beautiful machined ti scales and the blue anodizing wonderfully contrasts the satin finish of the scales. A bit stiff, compared to other spyderco back locks, outta the box but has broken in nicely so far. Eveyone has been very impressed with the quality that i have shown it to. Perfect stlyish edc, or dress carry
