If you are looking for a knife that you can carry and not have to worry about getting wet and rusting look no further. LC200N steel is amazing, it holds an edge quite well and sharpens easily.

I have about 8 knives now, but the Native 5 Salt gets the most pocket time. I didn't think anything could unseat my beloved Para3 LW, but there is something about the Salt that makes me choose it over and over again.

I can open and close it with one hand...even with my nails done. :)

It's lightweight, I don't even feel it in my pocket. It would be great in a purse too.

The ergos are fantastic. This knife feels like it was made for my hand. And the FRN feels great too.

I love that the LC200N is immune to corrosion, even though mine will likely never see salt water, I still feel confident that it can handle whatever I might throw at it...maybe cutting up newly made cold press soap, cardboard, opening packages, cutting apples, or even some pruning in the yard. Whatever my cutting needs the Native 5 Salt is ready.

Seriously, if I could only keep one of my knives, I would pick this one. You don't have to be a fisherman, sailor or pirate ;) to love this knife.

So I really wanted to love this knife. I think the steel is really cool and would like to see Spyderco switch to this steel on the other Salt knives and would gladly pay a little extra for the better edge retention. I returned the knife to BHQ because it didn't work as smoothly as expected. I can easily flick Delicas all day long and have had another Native 5 that flicked just fine but this one kinda hangs. Yes, I know I can take it apart but something about it just didn't hit me right coming out of the box. That and it's yellow. I really thought I could live with it but I can't.

Love it. Perfect pocket knife because it is light weight and will not rust. Don't even feel it in my pocket. Also, came extremely sharp right out of the box.

For me, this is the perfect knife for outdoor activities. The weight to blade length ratio is perfect. If you were doing the AT you may want something a bit smaller, and if you were only day hiking, something a bit longer may make sense... but for across the board usage, this is excellent. Plus, the color is great for finding it if you ever drop it and the grip is excellent wet or dry. Of course the real selling point is the steel. The LC200N may not be quite as rust proof as the H1 variety, but I have cut tomatoes with it and left it sitting with absolutely no tarnishing. Plus, the edge retention is way better than H1. Ergonomics are excellent as well. The Benchmade Bugout may be lighter and with a longer blade, but the steel here is what really sells me. If I could only have one knife for hiking, backpacking, canoeing, fishing -- this would be the one... no hesitation.

Finally got this in. Sharp as anything straight from box. The alignment was centered perfectly, and the lock releases without issue. Blade drops close most of the way straight out of box. Getting better with cycling open/close.

Tested with a salt solution (5%) in cup, as seen on may videos. No corrosion. This is now my main blade for fishing.
