The Tops Brakimo fixed blade was designed by Bushcraft expert Joe Flowers to withstand the harshest outdoor jungle conditions. The word Brakimo comes from the Brazilian Matis tribe that remained isolated from the modern world until the 1970s. This is the official knife of Bushcraft Global, which takes adventurers into the Colombian jungle to learn survival skills from indigenous guides. It is equipped with a Scandi ground blade and green canvas micarta handle scales.
Features:There isn't much else to say other than that this is my go to bushcraft blade. The blade is perfect and the handle lends itself to be a jack of all trades in that it feels like it could be used to defend yourself from predators should the need arise. You wont be disappointed!
This knife is just awesome. The scandi-vex grind it comes with allows the knife to be able to perform small tasks very easily. But the length of the blade allows the knife to do big tasks easily as well. It's a perfect "one knife" in my opinion. Before I bought it, I was somewhat worried about keeping the scandi-vex edge maintained. If you're also worried about that, don't be. It's extremely easy to keep this thing, literally, hair popping sharp. Just take a piece of leather (I use an old leather belt) and strop it.
So I've been looking for something to replace my e see 5, and my Becker wasn't feeling too comfortable my hand after about 40 minutes of carving. I was looking for something I could beat the s*** out of but also be able to put my own edge on. I was up on blade forums I saw how many people modify their backers so I just look for something that already was easily done and this gem was when I found. With the Scandinavian bevel it sharpens up as easily as a mora which means I just strop it or put a light bevel in it. It has some Contours, way better than myou esee5, but not too crazy. I've returned it and then turned around and did fine carving to fit a new Tomahawk handle on my Cold Steel rifleman's Hawk and I can't tell you how much I love this knife. Another one for the books
Blade shape very nice, handle good feel and grip. I look down the spine of the blade and it was bent slightly to the left by a few mm.. but overall a good blade for the price...
