The TOPS Bull Trout is a compact EDC fixed blade that was designed for fishermen by a fisherman. This knife won TOPS Knives' unique in-house design program with an entry from Martin Murillo, the shipping manager. With the deep finger choil, jimping along the spine, and the micarta handle scales make for an easy, comfortable grip. The edge has a nice belly, great for slicing cuts.
The Bull Trout knife is just one of a large selection of unique and utilitarian blades by TOPS Knives!
Feels so good in hand, because it is perfectly balanced. Spin it on its side and/or on the spine.Perfect balance.Thank you. One of my favorite knives for sure.
Just a great lil fixed blade. I have used it to clean fish, baton tinder, break down boxes, and it just keeps going. the ergos rock, and it fits perfectly in my hand. I want to invest in a horizontal sheath, and that will be the icing on the cake.
Inconspicuous on the belt (though I'm thinking of a scout-carry sheath). Fits well in my hand. Has cut whatever I needed cut in kitchen or outside. Not my first TOPS knife but might be my best. Micarta scales make it balance into the palm and give good grip without biting into my skin. NICE!
This is a perfect edc fixed blade fishing knife. The knife came razor sharp and the sheath is high quality leather with good retention. I am going to deduct one star because the fasteners for the scales stick out beyond the scale itself. It almost made me want to return the knife but it has such a good weight and perfect blade shape. I will catch and clean over a hundred rainbow trout a year and this should do the job just fine. I expected perfection for my first Tops knife. Glad this knife is not 1095 steel as it should not rust.
I bought this with the intention on edc, it's comfortable and well shaped. Great size but the hardware creates some hot spots on my hand. I will try to coutersink the hardware or purchase different scale fasteners.
Blade is fine and came pretty sharp. I just think the handle is not of the best design- : way to small in diameter to hold securely. : handle to close to cutting edge, placement I know would end up cutting my pointing finger when Preparing fish. Knife came with a nice sheath of quality leather. 154cm is a good steel around water holds a edge pretty well.
