The Tex Creek XL fixed blade is a larger version of the original Tex Creek knife. It's designed as a rugged tribute to the men and women who hunt and fish in the Tex Creek area of southeast Idaho. TOPS Knives designer Leo Espinoza created a new blade finish for this knife. TOPS calls it the "black river wash." The uncoated 1095 steel blade has a darkened finish along the edge where the blade has been heat treated. It's a unique look that gives this knife a worn in look and ready-to-work attitude. Because of the nature of the finish, each knife will look slightly different than the one pictured above.
This knife has a full-tang handle with black canvas Micarta scales and an oversized lanyard hole. The Tex Creek comes with a premium leather sheath.
This blade is an amazing hunting/camping knife.... I was looking for a 6 inch knife to add to my system and the tex creek xl fit the bill and then some. It's so amazing, I'll be getting the tex creek to go along with it.
This is a great knife but I am a little disappointed that they sent this knife out with paint overspray on the scales. It will likely wear off, but why not fix this obvious issue before sending it out to the customer?
