The Legacy Axe features a full tang handle fitted with green Micarta scales and an extended tang with striking tip. The blade is made from heavy-duty carbon steel with a black Caswell no-glare finish. It comes equipped with a felt lined Kydex carrier with nylon webbing belt hangers.

Daniel Winkler has been making knives full time since 1988 and has more recently started the Winkler Knives product line after working with the Special Forces Teams in the United States Military and Allied Forces from around the world.
