The additional abrasives and strop make sharpening a whole lot more exciting. The resin-bonded diamond abrasives give your edges a high polish in which you can see your own reflection. And when you're ready to finish, the new strop uses the grain side instead of the flesh side, giving you a smoother experience with less variability. The kit includes a Chromium Oxide .5 micron stropping compound, but the strop is unloaded. That way you can use a diamond emulsion, aluminum oxide, or whatever strop compound you prefer!
