ZT0301, ZT0301, ZT0303

These are built to last. They are real tanks. I wish I could get a hold of the OD Green ZT0301. I have the ZT0303 all black.

Get sh*t done knife
Travis M. on Jan 6, 2018

Do you find yourself needing to chop open cans of food? Maybe you need to chisel your way through a brick wall? Dragon need slaying? With the 0301, none of those are a problem. At around 8oz, this pocket brick could knock Goliath out if you were to come across him. A word of warning would behoove anyone who is inexperienced at opening this beast. Due to the assisted opening feature, a sure grip is imperative so the knife doesn't fly out of your hand with enough rotation to form a small solar system around its mass. This knife will not let you down.

I have collected knives for decades and have owned bought traded knives for that whole time. The ZT 0301 is in the top 5 of all the knives I have owned. Looks, quality, fit, finish, edge, blade, construction. It is a beast as many have already said. All this and very affordable too. AMAZING.

Built like a tank

This knife is indestructible and the assisted opening works very well it is still pretty easy to close. I love this knife if you're on the fence about it buy it

Can I use your knife? OMG!!!
Mitch b. on Jan 16, 2019

People freak out when they see this knife! I have owned the Ranger Green ZT0301 since 2010/11. I bought it for $180!!! When I heard they quit making them, I started collecting them. This knife is built to the max. The Only issue with these is the torsion bar inside the handle (Under the G-10) will shear and/or lose power after the knife is opened/closed for years. This is mainly because the blade is so heavy. Also the three pins in the handle are worn from the blade pinching the G10 liner. Over the years it has been back to ZT twice. They always take care of you. Twice in ten years. Name a company that will take care of you in 10 years. For free! Collect while you can!

A tank in my pocket
Timothy D. on Oct 19, 2021

I've had this knife with the ranger green Scale for a few years and love it. It's not often in my pocket but when it is, it's always a cpnversation starter. I love the heft of the knife and the blade is strong and still very sharp afet a good while of use. The lockup is tight and the assisted opening makes the knife easy to deploy. The knife is rather pricey for me but it's worth every penny.

Pretty sure Gibbs had one!
Erik W. on Jul 20, 2019

So I am pretty sure Gibbs had one and so this is the 2nd ZT I purchased. Definitely a safe queen now most of the time. But if I could only have one tool in a survival situation I just might chose this one. Its pretty tank-like, the handle is a block of metal and G-10, the blade is wide and study. High end metal on the blade, takes work to sharpen. Cuts decent, but if given the strength I'm pretty sure you could use it as a pri-bar or digging tool as long as the pivot bolt held out. Very nice indeed!

A Pocketknife for the Apocalypse*
Bob O. on Mar 29, 2016

This was my first ZT, and I won it through an Instagram giveaway (so I'm not even trying to justify spending this much money to myself). It is the most beefy knife I have ever handled that was still practical. Are there chunkier knives? Yep. Pick up a Satu if you want something the size of a car in your pocket. Are there stronger knives? Maybe. As far as framelocks go, this one is pretty spectacular. I know some other locks types are stronger, but this is a well-executed framelock. The pivot is extremely strong and has wide, sturdy phosphor bronze washers. No bearings to worry about. Top-notch materials and craftsmanship? Check. Ergonomic design with excellent traction? Check. Blade that cuts well? Check (though the blade is tall enough that it makes S-cuts through thicker materials difficult). Low-key earth tones and mottled colors to avoid grabbing attention? Check. It can take abuse and keep on going. It's meant for work and survival. It is equally at home in the workshop, jeans on the weekend, or a zombie's head. It just keeps going when other knives lay quivering in the dust, rusted and broken. Highly recommended. *Apocalypse not included with purchase.
