Description

Description

Utilizing the time-honored Kwaiken design, Todd Begg Knives has created their own version that displays Todd's recognizable styling cues. It has a 6Al4V titanium handle with a framelock that features a steel lock tip insert. Adding flair to this knife is the angled, 3D milled pocket clip with a Begg original ceramic ball bearing detent. The blade is CPM-S35VN steel with a stonewash finish to match the handle. Action is predictably swift with the ceramic IKBS pivot. This knife is manufactured by Reate to Todd Begg's exacting standards.

Kudos to BHQ for the super fast mailing and packaging!

This is a near-perfect knife. There's but one thing I would change (at the bottom), otherwise, there are no flaws with my copy of this bad-a$$ knife.

Mine needed one drop of oil on the detent ball to smooth out and, once applied, everything is nice and buttery. The blade shape is fantastic and fun to flip and arrived very sharp. Handles are smooth and machined to perfection. The blade is perfectly centered and overall, the knife's 'just right' weight makes this such a wonderful thing to own and use.

The one thing I'd like to see done differently is the location of the long lockbar cut that runs down the center of the lockbar scale. There is a channel down the center of both scales, each having 11 holes. The channels are concave and the top lip of the lockbar side channel meets the lockbar cutout and forms a sharp ridge that gets my attention every now and again while flipping. You can see the edge in the photo, above, of the lockbar side. The edge runs below the long lockbar cutout shadow above the channel. It's not super bad but the location for the long cut could be either higher or lower by a small measure and there'd be no issue.

I'd definitely buy this knife if I didn't own one and knew about the edge. There is no reason to shy from the price or country of origin. This thing is a monster and you'll be happy you bought one if you do...

I pre ordered this knife after watching Jim Skeltons video on the Todd Begg and Reate prototype. I was amazed with the quality of a knife like this for the price so I bought one. And it has not disappointed! Perfect in every way. Happy to own this piece of functional art.

This knife is unbelievable!!! As a machinist at a high end prototype shop I can look at this and know they have many hours of machine work into it. This knife is perfect in every way! I'm extremely picky about centered blades and symmetrical grinds on both on the blade and frame and this knife is perfect! The action is the smoothest I own and it will fall shut. But has a strong enough detent that you'll never worry about accidental deployment. If you've been looking at this knife DO NOT hesitate to pick it up!:)

Thanks Blade HQ,
Nick
