I just wish it came with atleast S35VN instead of S30v but oh man I'm in love Guy's.
I am a collector but, this was my first OTF knife. I did a lot of research on-line. I am very happy with this knife. Got a great price from Blade HQ. Shipped fast and on time. This knife is typical Benchmade quality. I have been carrying it for a few days and find it comfortable in my back pocket. I forget it is there. Action is very clean and works flawlessly. Excellent design, looks great. Only negative is the knife is not a sharp as what I am used to with Benchmade. Otherwise, very happy with this knife.
The action is extremely smooth, fast. Perfect amount of tension on the switch. I read a lot of reviews of "microtech is better" blah blah, but benchmade has never let me down, so why change whats not broken. This is everything you would expect. The G10 feels great. Its light. Pocket clip is perfect. HOWEVER, my only complaint is S30V for this high of a priced knife. Don't get me wrong I find S30V to be an amazing steel, but for the price you would expect at least S90v or S110v. But that doesn't hinder my review - I have been using S30V since the ZT 0300s first came out and the edge retention is great, the corrosion resistance is great (for EDC).
Went in big for my first OTF, and I gotta say that I'm super pleased with it. I got this guy back in December so I've had some time with it to give my opinion on it. Benchmade really hit it out of the park with this knife. I love the contoured G10 in my hand and the smooth surface is easy on pant pockets. The double-edged blade isn't the most EDC friendly, but man does it slice well. All-around great looks and it's built well!
I was so excited to get this knife - my first OTF - what a major disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful knife and the workmanship is typical good Benchmade quality. The action is great and it just looks badass! Unfortunately, this thing came dull as a tire iron. I could literally run my finger along the edge and it didn't cut me at all. I'd chalk this up as a one off, but this is the second of three Benchmade's I've purchased that were dull to the point of just being a blunt piece of metal. You'd think spending nearly $500 on a work of art like this, that you'd get something that had more care go into it. After about 2 hours relentlessly running the edges on a wet stone, honing, and stropping the blade, it'll sort of cut paper now. But with the incredible hardness of the steel, it still needs more work to get decent edges on it.
