Double 420J stainless liners add strength and durability to the handle design. The AXIS lock mechanism makes the knife easy to open and easy to close for right and left handers. This model is outfitted with a drop point blade in a satin finish with a plain cutting edge and dual ambidextrous thumb studs. Item includes a reversible stainless steel pocket clip for left or right side tip-up carry.
I had originally bought the mini griptilian in early August and fell in love with it. The only thing that would constantly bother me is the size of the handle. As a man with medium meat mitts I felt the mini did not give me a great purchase and I was constantly trying to find a good grip. The full size came into my life and gave my medium sized hands the perfect home with no struggle to get a good grip on the handle. The other thing I noticed, the action is much better when opening and closing. The extra weight in the blade definitely makes opening and closing the full size much easier and more satisfying. As a wise man once said, "buttery smooth."
I carry this when I want something a little bigger than the mini. Orange is good because it's hard to lose in the woods. Love it.
This blade is the sharpest I have ever seen out of the box. I really love the Axis lock. It's so smooth. And the blade steel is great. So I decided to try it. I thought I would hate the GRN handle scales. I actually like them. They are light yet a lot more durable than I expected. The blade is beautiful. It looks unreal how perfect it is. I can not find any flaws in the grinds. I didn't think it was worth the $100 until I bought it. I'm happy with my purchase.
I bought a Mini-Griptillian about 8 years ago that has been hiding from me for about 5 years. I decided to give it's big brother a chance to live with me. I was hugely disappointed with the stock scales and almost returned it. I added a set of G-10 scales and that made all the difference. It is now so solid and is one of my favorites. It's also a great fidget toy. It's now up there in price and quality with a couple of my 940's.
