Top 10 edc
Nicholas H. on Jan 31, 2022

One of the best edc out there. Been carrying one for years. Has some wear now, but has never let me down.

Great knife, will buy Benchmade again
DAVID S. on Sep 27, 2020

Checked out the mini and the larger Gryptilian, but making a choice was not easy. Once the mini arrived I was totally impressed and very happy with the size. Fits my hand perfectly, the blade has a neat shape and is seriously sharp. After lots of use in my garden and cutting up lots of cardboard boxes, it is still super sharp. I highly recommend the mini Gryptilian and can't wait for my next Benchmade.

A gift I wanted for myself
JGunn M. on Aug 13, 2020

Gave a Mini Griptillan as a gift to my daughter to help keep her safe and to open the rest of the presents. She received so many complements from others with bigger knives, that I thought I should have one for myself. I wanted a smaller EDC for suit pockets, so went ahead and bought one for me. After a few flips, I quickly got the hang of the Axis lock. I like having the jimping on the back of the blade and along the casing for better grip and feel in my hand. Blade came super sharp. Benchmade is a recognized and respected brand to carry. I look foward to making my next featherstick. Blade HQ offered a great price and quick service.

Best EDC I have
Ed B. on Jun 29, 2020

I've owned this knife for about 8 years and its been my go to knife for the majority of the time. The grip is fantastic and the axis lock makes one handed open / close quick and effortless. This is a must have in everyone collection.

A classic for a reason
Kelly A. on Dec 6, 2019

This knife is awesome, plain and simple. Ergos are good, action is great and now with the S30V steel, this is an incredible affordable option for an EDC or even for someone's first dive into the knife world!

Benchmade Griptilian & Mini-Griptilian - Great knives!
Paul T. on Oct 13, 2019

I own the Griptilian and mini-Griptilian and both are great knives. The full size is a bit large for me for an EDC knife but excellent if you need a larger blade, The blade quality on both is excellent as is the entire knife quality and design. They come scary sharp and stay that way quite a while if not abused. The Axis opening system is my preferred lock mechanism. And I think their drop point profile is the best looking blade style available today. A couple nits: While the 'Grip's' are great for handling and use, they can rough up the back of your hand if they are clipped to your pocket and you're reaching to the bottom of your pocket for your keys. And I found the mini-Grip a bit harder to one hand open than the full size which can be opened with a swift wrist flick. And as some other's have commented, I have had the mini-Grip blade open slightly when clipped in my pocket. For these reasons I removed the clip from the mini and let ride in the bottom of my pocket. This configuration is much better and safer for me. They are expensive knives but well worth the cost if you need a quality and durable blade.

Perfect EDC
Zach S. on Oct 2, 2019

Everything about this knife is great. The size, weight, blade steel. And the axis lock is simply amazing. I would recommend this knife to anyone.

Great pocket knife
Tim n. on Sep 10, 2019

My grandson asked for a pocket knife for his birthday, so I researched for a good everyday carry knife and something that could be a heirloom. The edc griptilian seems to be just that, a well made edc knife, with a lifetime warranty.

Hall of Famer
michael w. on Aug 31, 2019

I have a bunch of regular Griptilians because they are just great value knives. I put off getting a Mini for years because of it's smallish size. When I finally ordered one I knew it would be great, and it is. Good steel, smooth action, decent jimping, and lanyard hole.

Simply Perfect
Roz N. on Jul 24, 2019

Can’t go wrong with the mini grip. One the best edc blades out there, bought it little over 5yrs ago and still going strong! 5/5

Great little knife
David L. on Feb 23, 2019

Just like the vast majority this was my first benchmade. Absolutely love it. It made me a huge fan. You can’t beat an axis lock with anything. This knife got me into the hobby

Good little knife
Christian T. on Jun 12, 2018

Great small knife for everyday use. The axis lock is the best one had manipulation knife locking mechanism. This My favorite configuration of the knife as well. Get the satin blade with satin pocket clip unless you want to have a scratched up looking knife after one use.

Love this little guy
Nick P. on May 18, 2018

Solid. Great action.

Very nice knife
Daniel J. on May 17, 2018

Sort of bought on a whim but I really like this knife for EDC. It's quality made and I really enjoy using it. Cant seem to stop carrying it.

Great EDC Folder
Morris G. on Mar 24, 2018

It's hard not to get excited about this one - Benchmade's legendary quality and design for under $100.This one has smooth, comfortable action, and the blade is seriously sharp. This knife shows why Benchmade is at the pinnacle of consumer-purchased knives.

Perfect EDC knife!
Alex M. on Jan 23, 2018

Perfect size for me with great ergonomics and a good blade steel. Carries amazingly in the pocket and the axis lock is one of my favorite things on any knife. Hard to beat

Great small EDC blade
spyderco f. on Jan 22, 2018

Fantastic entry level EDC blade!

Tremendous value
Brian M. on Jan 20, 2018

This was my first axis lock knife and it's great. Love the blade shape and the grippy handle. It sharpens up really well and is a great edc. I have since handled the g10 version and it is even more awesome. However I can't justify the cost of the g10 version when I already have this one. Because of the lower cost however, I'm not afraid to use this one everyday.

Amazing knife
Thomas K. on Jan 19, 2018

I love this knife, I wear medium sized gloves and it fits my hand extremely well. The blade holds an edge alright and it’s really easy to sharpen. I love it so much I got a second one just for my car. Highly recommend

My favorite knife!
M A. on Jan 19, 2018

My go to knife....everyday! Perfect small size. ( I don't like full sized grips) always perfect and smooth deployment. Just an all around wonderful pocket knife.

My first “Nice knife”
Conner G. on Jan 6, 2018

I lost my mini-grip running a transect and doing forestry work deep in the jungle in Hawaii. I carried this knife across six states and it never once let me down. It was a wonderful EDC. the lockup was solid and there was no blade play. 154CM was a great all rounder steel and never stained on me, even spending all day in the rain and wet. If you’ve never owned one, do yourself a favor and get one. They are wonderful and will be a steadfast companion for you on your adventures.

Tough and durable!
Reynaldo B. on Jan 6, 2018

I edc this knife in the south Texas oilfield for about fives years. It went to hell and back!!! Tough and durable. Strong blade, never chipped or bent. The thick blade makes it great for piercing and cutting thick plastic. Excellent grip when wet and easy to handle with thick impact gloves. I've cut tons of stuff with this knife. Rope, tubing and straps of all sizes and thicknesses, dry chemical sacks, thick chemical pails, zip ties, etc. Excellent all around knife.

Perfect EDC Knife
Brian M. on Jan 5, 2018

This knife was my entry into higher end knives. It was my first of many Benchmades. The size is perfect for EDC and the Axis lock is fantastic. 154CM steel sharpens up to a laser sharp edge and holds up well over time.

Excellent Knife for EDC
Daniel M. on Jan 5, 2018

Love this knife and it never leaves my pocket. Balanced, lightweight, and tough as nails. 154CM is easy to sharpen also. A great buy for the price in my opinion.

EDC greatness
Michael D. on Jan 5, 2018

A great knife doesn't need to be fancy. It's small in pocket, sturdy, easy to open and close, useful and strong blade shape, and good steel. It isn't a showpiece, but it's a darn good tool.

Game changer
Joshua G. on Jan 5, 2018

This was a Christmas gift for my dad. He loved it right away and always shows it off, very simple look but a work horse of a knife.

My First Benchmade
Grant P. on Jan 5, 2018

I recently started collecting knives and this is my first Benchmade. Ive had it for about six months as a edc and it's like new. This knife is good if you like smaller blades that keep the weight down in your pocket. Edge retention is good as I have only sharpened it once since purchase. With Benchmade it's hard to go wrong, especially with that super smooth axis lock. Happy to have this knife in my collection.

Sturdy, American Made
Andrew R. on Jan 5, 2018

Benchmade is one of the best when it comes to pocket knives, and this one is no different. The locking system takes some getting used to, but you'll find that it has no equal. Edge retention is great as well.

My First
Steve M. on Jan 5, 2018

My first Benchmade. It’s all you could ever want. And yet it made me want more!

Get it!
Oscar Z. on Jan 5, 2018

This was my first knife I bought myself, and it was definitely worth it. I had to mess with the pivot to fix the blade play, but it still is wonderful

Great edc
matt c. on Mar 17, 2017

I always wanted to try a benchmade, I consider myself more of a spyderco guy, My most carried knife was the delica 4 ffg. I decided to pull the trigger and order the direct competitor to the delica, knowing what everyone say's about the handle material, I was expecting to possibly take back the knife, much to my surprise, the blade was centered, the handle material didn't bother me, and the grind on the edge was perfect. Im still getting used to using the thumb studs, but I don't really have to because I can just flick it open with the axis lock. The delica is a better slicer due to its full flat ground blade, but the griptilian has a stronger tip.

Perfect USA made blade
Jonathan P. on Apr 12, 2016

I have been carrying this for about three years and love it. This was my first quality knife I knew after the first time I flicked it open that it was a keeper. Also Benchmade has the best customer service in the knife industry.

Great Knife
kyle b. on Aug 6, 2015

I am a knife collector/user. I have knives from dozens of brands. Spyderco, benchmade, victorinox and cold steel are some of the best knives I have owned. Griptillians are razor blades. They lock up tight and once broken in feel smooth as glass.

Classic
Eduardo G. on Aug 1, 2019

This is an all time favorite for many. Nice blade shape, not too big, not too small, good not great ergos, good blade steel, lightweight, carries well, axis lock is fun to play with. The bad is that the handle is made of plastic, a good quality plastic but it still feels cheap.

Great knife, handle material is a little lacking though
Coltin H. on Jul 21, 2019

The over all construction of this knife is really outstanding and i think the one with G-10 would be even 5 stars but going with the current material i can only give 4. With a deep carry clip the knife rides well in the pocket but at the butt of the knife there is this texture that is harsh and does not wear down unless you go out of your way to do so. The blade is outstanding for the price and i find the grind to be quite slicey but I with I would have gone for the premium version with the G-10 and stand offs. If you were on the fence about buying this knife i would not hesitate because of good definitely outweigh the bad.

Good knife
Dutch A. on Mar 15, 2019

Pros: good size, great steel (especially for the price), the axis lock is useful, and a lot of fun. Cons: scales feel very cheep, sometimes they come with a great action and no blade play, but other times, it seems like you have to make a choice between the two.

It's worth the $90 price tag.
Matthew D. on Jan 13, 2018

If you want to try out a axis lock you will enjoy this knife. Even if the scales are plastic, they are the strongest, gripeist, and lightest plastic scales i have used. Compared to budget Kershaws the build quality is a huge upgrade. The 154cm blade is a good, long lasting steel that isn't terrible to resharpen. The only problem with this knife, and with all Benchmades for that matter, is the axis lock. It is a good, strong and fun lock to use but if you fidget with it like i do a 100 times a day, the spring will break (this happened to me twice). Benchmade's warranty is amazing but you still have to ship your knife off for about 2 weeks which sucks. But if you have more self control than I do then this knife will last you a good while. This is one of my favorite small edc knifes, its a quality small edc knife but you arn't afraid to use it and the warranty itself is worth a third of the $90.00 price point. BUY IT!

Favorite benchmade
Chris V. on Jan 7, 2018

Good fast action with the axis lock. Fits well and the hand and has a sharp cutting edge. Now I just want the Greek mini which is basically a mini grip with s30v and rubbery handles.

Typical Benchmade quality
Scott B. on Jan 5, 2018

After buying and using the mini's bigger brother, along with the Doug Ritter version, I had to buy this knife as well. Same quality, easy to maintain steel, great action and the awesome AXIS lock, you can't go wrong. The only complaint is with the handle material, same as the full size, although durable, it feels a little cheap, but that can obviously be overlooked since I own three griptilians. This knife is a little small for my EDC tastes but it will remain in my collection / rotation. It holds a certain purpose for me and gets some use every now and then.

Benchmade mini-griptillian
Travis Y. on Jan 5, 2018

Love the size of this blade and the feel. Axis lock needs some breaking in and the blade wasn’t as sharp as I expected but still sharp.

Favorite edc
Joshua B. on Sep 22, 2016

The knife is top notch, it feels great in the hand, it's light weight, it disappears in the pocket and benchmade's warranty is probably the best knife warranty ever!!! But it came with some blade play and it took me a while of fiddling with the pivot to get out the blade play and keep the knifes silky smooth action Now the knife functions flawlessly and I love it!!!

good edc
Brian T. on Mar 14, 2015

This was my first benchmade and i wanted to see what the fuss was about.I can tell you any thing you hear about this knive is true. The action is pretty good and its a fun little knive to open and close. It dosnt cut as good as a spiderco delica but for how thick the blade is and the grind i still think it is impressive. The mini griptilian is a must have.I will be getting the hk series next

A Timeless Classic.
Dylan W. on Feb 13, 2015

This knife is well-known and proven to be an excellent EDC. Any knife enthusiast somewhere has a Mini-Grip in their collection; it's simply become a staple of the community. If you're on the fence, let this review push you to the checkout screen.

A classic, but cheapo scales....
FRED D. on Sep 28, 2020

This knife's action is so smooth that you can almost flip it with a thought. Very handy shape and size. Nonetheless, I sorta wish I hadn't bought it, because the scales are so poor, and replacements are quite spendy. What is with grivory? How expensive can G10 really be? Benchmade needs to ride themselves of this material.

Great knife but....
Roy H. on Feb 11, 2019

I love this knife and it's a great edc size but mine keeps trying to cut me. Twice now I've found it's blade sticking out through the material of my pants.I don't carry or do anything different with this knife than any other and carried it all day no problems and get home sit down and go to take it out of my pocket and it tries to skewer me. My guess is the thumb studs are too large for the blade and are catching on my pants causing the blade to deploy. This great little knife will probably be banished to my computer desk drawer from now on. Still a great knife but watch out, maybe a blade lock wouldn't hurt Benchmade?
