Knife enthusiasts are in the habit of regularly disassembling, cleaning, lubricating tuning, and reassembling their knives. This is often extremely difficult, because there are all kinds of little screws, bearings, bushings, etc. that are easy to lose, not to mention the inevitable mess that get's made by excess cleaners and lubricants. Blade HQ decided it was time for an upgrade. This shop mat is made of 100% silicone, so it grips the table as well as the knife you're working on. It has small pockets along the top and sides to securely hold tools and small parts, and a large work area that can fit even large size folders with ease.
All this time I’ve been working on my knifes on the kitchen table with a flashlight in my mouth. (Why do I hear some of you laughing?). (Been there, done that?). I’ve put off buying this “shop mat” long enough. I bought a small LED table light to work with this mat. NO MORE screws bouncing and rolling off the table. NO MORE looking on the floor for the screw that got away. If you “split” your knife in half and put the right hand parts on the right. And the left on the left side. For correct reassembly after disassembly. There are small “partitions” that will separate and hold these small parts. The best $20 bucks I ever spent. Your mileage may vary. Jef
