I bought this beautiful USB otf knife in gray a while back and I tell you it very well worth the money. With the snappy action and razor sharp blade you will have a nice knife for opening letters, boxes, or general purposes i.e. edc, etc. This knife was made in collaboration with Cobratec. Boker plus just like Cobratec will stand behind their products so, don't hesitate, you won't go wrong here. Top of the line knife. I think it's under priced. You can ask for $100 and still a good price.
I opened the package and put this knife in my hand and couldn't help but giggle out loud with childlike joy. I knew it would be small but holding it in person was a different experience...and I love it. The OTF that won't intimidate anyone. It's made by Cobratec knives based on the logo on the side of the blade. I have a large 3.5" Cobratec and this USB OTF is like a miniature version of it. Putting them next to each other also made me laugh. Overall it is constructed very well imo and has a snappy action. This is a great keychain knife and one you'll want to show your friends whether they like knives or not. Came really sharp. Wouldn't use it for heavy tasks but for opening packages or letters, this thing is so much fun! Worth the small price tag. PULL THE TRIGGER!
I have had this on my Keychain since the day I got it a year and a half ago. It performs well. I had to sharpen it once but has kept the edge since pretty well. Occasionally it would not extend the blade out all the way because of pocket lint. Only 3 times in a year and a half. I just pulled the blade out all of the ways and wiped the blade clean and it retracted like normal and would fully extend again. I've had no problems with the mechanism besides when it got a bit of dust inside that is my own fault. As I said pulled the blade out all the way and clean it and would work perfectly thereafter. I would definitely recommend this for a Keychain OTF knife and thinking of buying more of them. Very happy with it only thing is the black color looks like stone wash Grey, now after a year of pocket rubbing with keys and coins. Still love it and its great price.
3 weeks of nonstop use on my keys (opening boxes and such) and I cannot recommend it enough. Amazing utility, and discreet enough not to raise eyebrows. Finally, a keychain knife that I don't worry about stabbing my thigh! A++++
Nice little OTF, solid and well-constructed, action could be a touch smoother, a wee bit of oil splash when cycled the first few times (which is generally GOOD!), and a great deal! I hope they do a bayonet/dagger blade in this handle!
When I first got my USB I fired it so much the spring broke. I love to fidget. Blade HQ fixed it. The customer service is awesome.
Love this little knife. First one I received had a small chip in the blade, so BladeHQ took care of a return no problem and I got a replacement knife. Second knife is great, and actually has smoother, easier action than my first one. I would not have known there are variations in action from one knife to another, but there is, luckily, this second one is just great. No "ting" sound others have mentioned. Surprisingly, it has less thumb slide and blade rattle than my Ultratech. Blade of course still has a bit of play, but this aint no Deadlock, so its fine. Perfect to just throw in a pocket and go.
This is a great little knife in D2. I wouldn't use it for big tasks as the blade size speaks for itself, but it definitely makes daily tasks more convenient depending on the work environment. USB sized so it can be left on a keychain as a tool. Get em while they last!
I absolutely love this compact OTF knife. Bought 5 of these for family members and they all love them. Will be buying more for Christmas this year.
Bought it from another retailer. Worked great at first. 20 min later it started to malfunction and would not retract. I am waiting for a replacement. Boker never fails to disappoint. UPDATE I received a replacement from the retailer I purchased from. The replacement works perfectly. I assume it's kind of "hit or miss" as per the quality control. I wouldn't bet my life on this little OTF but it's a fun little fidget tool, cuts well for it's size, and fits easily in the pocket. I found it slightly too big for my keychain but that's my opinion. The aluminum case gets scratched up easily. If you are looking for a CA legal OTF then this is much better option than most of the junk out there.
This is a nice CA legal OTF. Obviously one shouldn't count on this knife for all tasks, but for lighter cutting and fidgeting, this is the one. The action is good, almost perfect for fidgeting. My only complaint is for 60 bucks I expected less of a "ting" sound when firing it, if not no sound at all. Mini OTFs at 15-20 bucks have an almost identical hollow ting sound upon firing and retracting the blade, so maybe it's unique to sub-2" blades. Overall I suggest this knife and I think most people will be happy with it. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford the Microtech Exocet lol
Similar to another review, I've had some trouble with the spring. Every so often the spring fails, turning the knife into droopy dog. A few good shakes does reengage the spring with the blade, just not sure how long it'll be until it fails completely. It also arrived extremely dull, which is ok (because sharpeners and all), but it seems QA/QC is definitely lacking on this one.
Build quality is VERY GOOD. But like every other reviewer here, spring failed after one week, now its a hit-or-miss. Good shake re-engages spring
Over all I love the idea of this little knife. It felt good in hand despite it's size. The action felt good at first and the weight was perfect a general little box opener. Sadly the quality is pretty bad. After two or three successful fires it would no longer deploy and retract correctly. Would misfire almost every time. This has potential but it is no good as is
Very cool little knife, only problem is mine stopped retracting the blade. It takes about 20ish attempts of manually pulling the blade out to lock position and re-firing it to get it to finally “sheath” hoping I can get it replaced.
After having this knife for a month I dropped it. After that the mechanism no longer worked. After reading a few of the reviews I shook it hard and it started working again. Not sure how much longer it will continue working.
The knife no longer retracts after two days of practically no use. It looks like the internal lock is failing since the retracting blade just bounces back out; but not far enough to engage the lock for the ejected blade. I’m glad I got it on sale, but it’s still a piece of junk.
