Description:
The Buck 040 Onset is a fantastic everyday-carry flipper knife that reminds us why Buck has been in the game for so long. Once again, they have delivered a folder built to last. It employs tough stainless steel for the frame, lightweight and weatherproof G-10 for the handle scale, and Crucible’s innovative CPM-S45VN stainless steel, which is known for its amazing toughness and edge retention. The first Buck knife was made over 100 years ago, and today the 040 Onset proves they are still riding the cutting edge of American cutlery.

First of all I really do recommend this knife, I own a lot of knives and this one has the best EDC features In my collection. The green G-10 is very grippy in the hand and doesn’t slip in gloves while I’m working on projects and the stainless steel side of the scales doesn’t bother me in weight or texture, I feel very minor hot spots from the pocket clip when griping the knife. Speaking of the pocket, it’s one of the smoothest pocket clips I have on a pocket knife, whether I’m wearing jeans or sweats I haven’t had an issue pulling my pocket knife out. The knifes flipping action takes a bit of getting used to and can take a bit more pressure but didn’t come up as an issue for my average sized hands. Overall a very nice knife!
