The Crossbill from Byrd knives features a hawkbill blade shape, excellent for controlled pulling cuts. The blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a partially serrated edge. The Crossbill is built on the same great handle platform as the Flight. The stainless steel handle has a lockback on the spine with a David Boye Dent that is ground away from the lock release to inhibit the chance of gripping the knife tightly enough to unintentionally release the lock during use. Includes a tip-up/down pocket clip.
Got it for $30, would've paid $40. Cuts well and locks tight, sharp enough to shave with (wouldn't recommend shaving with it). Awkward to sharpen but doable. Five stars for a $30ish knife.
Good value for the price. Effortless cutting with the curved down blade style. Good box-cutter. Too heavy for everyday carry, with a sharp pointed corner that jabs into my side sometimes if I carry in tight jeans. Must be sharpened often with heavy use.
