Love the design, love the steel, love the handle.
But after all these wonderfull (ahum ahum, necessary) upgrades, that finally bring out the gloriousness in Jesper's design, why not go all the way and get phosphor bronze washers.....

I'm going to get some after market one, when I get the chance. But it feels like they were hitting a homerun, only to just barely not.
I would not buy one again

I like the size and blade shape is excellent. However, its stiff, and not extra easy to open. Its clip is really tight, like rip your jeans tight. All and all there is nothing really wrong with the knife, but nothing awesome either. Save your money.
Sharp edges all over the metal scale.

The washers are two different sizes, but that doesn’t bother me. If I was worried about aesthetics, I would have bought a higher end, more expensive knife.

What does bother me....

EDIT: After a few days of having my thumb accosted while disengaging the frame lock, I disassembled the knife and filed all the sharp edges on the inner side of the metal scale. I also removed the manufacturing edges that were like razor blades. Very happy now.

For the price this knife is right on point. I too noticed the different sized washers and looked into why that is but couldn't find an answer. It's kind of an eye sore once you see it. Looking into buying different washers. Over all love the blade and fit of the handle in hand. No regrets on this purchase

i expected this pilar to be of better quality than the original pilar that has cheaper materials , i was wrong , this one has unfinished edges in the frame lock area and the spacer seems either over tightened or is of different thickness from one end to the other .. either way you're better off just buying the original pilar

Has anyone else noticed that the washer on the CF side is considerably bigger than the washer on the clip side?

Another Blade HQ exclusive CRKT Pilar that I've received that is of good quality. IMHO the satin finish of the carbon fiber is perfect. Sure the action could be a little smoother, but I find it to be OK for everything you're getting at this price. Besides, it's an easy to fix with a little tuneup. Still waiting for that Micarta version next time... ;-)
Great knife at a great price

Good little knife for the price. D2 and carbon fiber scale are nice for this price point. Quality was decent. The finger choil is perfect.

One of my favorite knifes. Could use some quality control and better materials. Still a lot to love at a good price point. Named after Hemingways beloved fishing boat, no sails involved just two engines. RD Wynn

For a knife with a blade length under 2.5” makes it perfect to EDC in school. For such a small knife it fills the hand really well because of that finger Choil. I give it 4 stars because of the bead blasted handle and Teflon washers. I would like to see bladehq come out with bronze phosphorus washers and a different finish on the scale.
