The 3" Hold Out by Cold Steel is a mid-sized folding knife with Cold Steels incredibly strong Tri-Ad lock. It boasts a full G-10 handle, making the knife extremely lightweight, and a reversible clip, making it accessible for both left- and right-handed users. Easy and unobtrusive to carry, this perfect EDC knife is a joy to hold and cuts like a charm—you'll be happy to have it!
The Cold Steel Hold Out comes in two different sizes with either a plain or serrated edge.
This blade is extremely well made and according to the years it's gone through one of the best blade material and handle upgrade to date. We're talking a blade that has one of the best design for gripping, multiple ways to grip, light and tough, and ready to go out of the box. These knives normally go for $170+ easily. That's not even being a tactical knife of all things. You won't be disappointed with the quality. Pros: Light/Sturdy. Best materials. Price. Multiple gripping positions. Thumb opener is really easy to use and safer than others I've tried. Cons: Need to loosen the pocket clip.
Yes, I know, Cold Steel, mall ninja, blah blah blah. But. This knife is the third best slicer I own, beating out knives like the Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2 and Manix 2 in S110V. It holds an edge longer and resharpens easier better than both the knives that slice better, which are the Zancudo in D2 steel and the Skyline in S30V. It's slim, it's light, it has an incredible lockup, it slices for days. Literally. After initial sharpening on the KME, it took four days (!) of cutting cardboard at work before it would no longer shave arm hair. It would still cleanly cut paper. It resharpened on the Spyderco Sharpmaker to shaving sharpness in about 8 strokes. Just get one, before Cold Steel realizes what a gem they are producing and doubles the price. And if they do, buy one anyway. It will still be worth it.
