The Cold Steel Tai Pan design was inspired by the fast and deadly serpent of the same name. It has a high performance VG-10 San Mai dagger blade that embodies all of the best features of a dagger while minimizing the shortcomings. The thickened spear point avoids the fragile tip of most daggers while still providing excellent penetration applications.

Features:
  • Tapered black Kray-Ex® handle with flattened oval cross section enhances in-hand control.
  • Traditional style tsuba and bolster offer both added safety and a classic look.
  • Item includes a Secure-Ex sheath with a nylon belt loop.

Perfect Dagger
Clay M. on Dec 23, 2019

Perfect design for a double edged dagger. Long, wide blade. Sharp. Well balanced. Handle is perfect size, thickness, soft rubbery texture. I like the size of the guard, it's big enough to protect your hand, but small enough not to create issues when mounting the knife to something. No gaps between blade & guard on mine. I did have an issue with the sheath on mine. The inside of the sheath at the higher end of the blade section, below where the sheath pinches on the guard of the knife to hold it in, was not big enough for the blade to fit into easily. I had to really push it in to get it in & out. I used a combo of my dremel with a long end bit, small hand files, & then sand paper to open it up inside & that fixed it. Despite having to fit the sheath I'm very happy with it. I also got the 12in Tanto version, which I recommend as well.

Ultimate Fighting Blade

This blade is a bit pricey but it fits the bill! My only regret is I wish I could have found an “ Imperial Tai Pan” in Damascus which would have been quite a bit more. Anyone training in martial arts weapons training would find this blade essential.
