The Voyager is ounce for ounce, far stronger than 99.9% of other folders. Each knife features precision made parts with a stiff spring and Cold Steel's Tri-Ad lock mechanism which is arguably the strongest, most reliable, low maintenance lock in the world!

The thick, extra wide blades are made from premium AUS 10A steel and meticulously ground to a thin edge for maximum shearing potential. This thin edge also allows us to hone each blade to astounding sharpness. And, because of the high carbon content of the steel, and their near perfect heat treatment, you'll find this sharpness last a surprisingly long time.

The Voyager Series also offers all the other latest refinements in lock-back construction including lightning quick, one-handed opening, state of the art mechanical fasteners, massively oversized pivot pins that are fully adjustable and properly hardened, and dual stainless steel pocket clips for ambidextrous carry and deployment.

The Griv-Ex handles feature 6061 heat treated aluminum liners for the utmost in strength and stiffness and are ergonomically designed to afford a wide array of grip options including the palm reinforced forward grip for which they are particularly well suited.

As tools these lightweight, super sharp knives are appropriate in almost any environment from hunting and camping to hiking and general utility chores. They can also readily fill specialty functions such as a boat or river knife, chute knife or police/military and survival/rescue applications.

I love this knife man, if you need a cardboard annihilator this is it, this thing was always in my back pocket at Walmart for when I needed(felt like tbh lol it was fun ) to break down big thick cardboard like on watermelon feature boxes , this CTS-BD1 is awesome and although this is a thick knife and not the best slicer , the big blade and triad lock gave me the ability to power thru and just annihilate cardboard, however this is yet another knife that suffers from what I call "thumbstud in the f***ing way syndrome" as I found myself getting really choked up on the back of the blade to power thru but the thumbstud just has to hang up on what I'm cutting .....other than that this is an awesome knife for what I use it for ...a thick cardboard anihilator
20 years and still going!

I purchased my Cold Steel Voyager in 1998 while living in Alaska. I carried it every day and abused the heck out of it. It's done so many things that a folding knife shouldn't be asked to do. Like chipping a vehicle out of ice, splitting kindling, slicing off a chunk of my thumb within the first week.....and the lockback is still solid. I'm amazed. Although the original, very Fine serrations they used haven't really held up.
Great knife!
