Be warned, this is no chopper. I bought this as a back up for either my machete or some of my larger blades that are thicker and donít do smaller tasks as well. Really a 1st world solution to something that wasnít really a problem. Anyway, this thing works fantastically. The RB3 is sharp as a razor out of the box because of that scandi grind. And itís a real scandi grind, not a scandi with a secondary bevel like a lot of ďscandiĒ knives out there. Used it a tad for wood processing, made a fire and a meal, then made a spoon to eat with since I didnít bring one. It performs flawlessly. Iím not a batoner, more of a hatchet or machete guy myself, but I did try some super light duty wood batoning and it held up fine. No rolls or kinks or anything and it was still razor sharp after a decent mornings work.

TLDR: If you need a chopper donít get this one. If you need a secondary to your primary big knife/hatchet/machete, get this one.
