Features:
The ESEE 3 is an all-purpose outdoor/bushcraft/survival knife. This fixed blade is designed to be tough enough for whatever you give it all while keeping the size and weight down. It's large enough to grip and use easily and comfortably, but has no extra frills. The blade is thin and slicey, perfect for processing game or preparing tinder. Whatever you need a knife for, you can probably get it done with the ESEE 3!
ESEE Knives are made in the USA and offer the most thorough warranty on the market. They're built for a lifetime!
Very very good. Cuts things. Is good.
Bought this to use as a skinning knife and it's perfect. Takes a great edge. Small enough for maximum control. The sheath is awesome with a positive click and nice retention.
Definitely worth the money. Gets razor-sharp and is a perfect size. You also get the Esee warranty, which you can't beat. My new favorite EDC. Carry it everywhere I go along with my CRKT minimalist.
Been carrying this every day for about 6 months now. Great blade with a comfortable grip. It's pretty heavy but I like that about it. Takes an edge with only a reasonable amount of effort and holds it like a champ. Well made with smooth edges and a nice finish over the whole thing. Love the choil. Seriously, this thing feels great in the hand, held normally or choked up. I'm not in love with the scales that this comes with. They feel good in the hand and I like the weight, but I don't care for the look. This is a purely superficial complaint and they can be changed easily anyway. On that note, the hardware comes out easily when you need it to but stays in tight otherwise. I've never had to tighten it up and I haven't used any thread lock. The sheath has good retention and hasn't loosened up too much so far. The holes in the sheath aren't square, so the clip only mounts vertically. If you want to scout carry or appendix carry horizontally, you're gonna need to find another way to mount it. This is my only real complaint. ESEE has a video talking about how they broke this one in testing because of the harder more brittle steel compared to the 1095 version. Love the honesty from the manufacturer. Haven't had to use it because this thing can take a beating, but the warranty seems great too.
What a well crafted fixed blade. Great ergos (as compared to the previous ESEE-3s) with almost perfect palm swell. I opted for the stonewashed S35VN model and glad I did. Most of my other horizontal carry fixed blades are coated, but this one looks much better in the stonewashed version. Great value. Great sheath. Not a huge fan of the clip that came with it, but nothing that iwb soft belt loops can't remedy. Can't wait to punish it a little because I beat my other ESSEs up pretty bad and they took everything I threw at it... something tells me this one will serve the same purpose, only with more appealing ergos.
I love the ESEE 3, I love even more that they made a more stainless high quality steel version. The handle scales dont do it for me though. G10 the way they did it is a bit slippery and its heavy. The blade alone has less weight to it than the handle scales. The micarta on the normal version has a much better feel and weight to it.
