Guardian Tactical RECON-040 OTF Auto Knife Drop Point (3.75" Black Serr) 113112

Add a state of the art OTF automatic to your kit with the RECON-040 from Guardian Tactical. This RECON model is built with a black anodized handle and a black drop point blade with partial serrations. The thumb slide and clip are also finished black.

Guardian Tactical's patented OTF mechanism provides smooth, responsive opening action. The unique thumb slide design is separated from the aluminum handle by a steel plate and 3 ceramic balls that eliminate grinding and wear. An innovative locking mechanism sits off to the side of the blade channel so it doesn't drag against the blade when opening and closing. These features eliminate the friction on the blade and button that have always plagued OTF knives. Take your OTF game to the next level with the Guardian Tactical RECON-040!

After watching a ton of OTF knife reviews I purchased the Recon 035 and love it! Absolutely lived up to the hype. So I went nuts and ordered the 040. Mistake. Super gritty. Feels like the ceramic ball bearings are crushed and dragging on the metal plate under the switch. 400 bucks for mediocrity. Edit. Whatever grit that was in my knife has since worked itself out without any maintenance or adjustment.

Very Nice

This is my first OTF Auto knife. Super smooth deployment. Elmax blade is crazy sharp. I like the size of the Recon 040. It compares in size to my Hinderer XM-24 and my Medford DP-187 Very Nice.
