The latest Hogue Knives Counterstrike is an out of this world example of excellent knifemaking. The out-the-front automatic knife has some serious style, with hand sharpened blades that are either stone tumbled or black PVD finished. The handle has those perfect sloped curves and strategic jimping for premium grip. The thumb slide deploys the blade in a sharp and snappy way which is wonderfully satisfying, and the Counterstrike triumphs over any hint of trigger rattle or blade play. With premium CPM 20CV steel and a beautifully designed handle to keep things tough and light, if you're looking for your new OTF EDC pocket knife—this is the one you want!

You have to really shake it to get any rattle type noise. Made very well. Mechanics are tight. Virtually no blade play. OTFs are notorious for being noisy just by light shaking. The blade could be a smidge tighter to completely eliminate blade play but I think it’s the nature of any OTF. But the blade is solid. Great materials for the body and blade. DA is smooth. Too fun to play with. I’ll probably still get the Kershaw Livewire. This model was on sale and $10 cheaper. But I’m so impressed with it that I have to add another OTF to my collection. Micro techs seem too pricy. Heard they rattle a little too much. Have to get in a room with one to try that brand out. But I absolutely love the look, feel of the grip and the slim profile. Have to add some lock tight to the glass breaker that is also the screw for the pocket clip. Couldn’t be happier with it. With the mechanics tight and virtually no blade play. I am one happy camper. Thank you Hogue. Might get another model of their larger OTFs
I rate the Counterstrike OTF one (1) star. Far too much pressure is required to fire open and close this knife. It should not be so difficult to open and close. Also, the company (Hogue) rates only one (1) star. Hogue gets 1 star because I have sent them 2 emails asking for help regarding this "open and close" issue. I hoped that they could give me a fix to make this knife easier to deploy. There has been no response from them. If you are looking to buy an OTF, Benchmade or Microtech are better options.
