Description:
The Hogue Deka is a top-tier EDC knife designed by Allen Elishewitz. It's lightweight, tough, well-made, and easy to use with one hand. It features the ABLE-Lock, which you can access from either side of the knife; couple that with its reversible pocket clip and you're looking at a fully ambidextrous folder. The Deka is a rich pocket knife, like a chocolate cake is rich: there's so much chocolate goodness in so little space—or in this case, cutlery goodness. It has a G-10 handle, minimal steel liners to support the lock, and a CPM 20CV super steel blade. The cherry on top of this proverbial cake is the knife's price point. The Hogue Deka is a knife you can afford to put in your pocket, and one you'll find every occasion to take out and use. It promises to perform well and stand the test of time.

Wow, a great knife for the money! I really like the steel, CPM 20 CV, on the deka. I am a clip point guy on this knife, as it feels more like a drop point blade. The action is fun to play with, and very smooth. The G10 scales are solid, and don’t add much too weight. My first Hogue experience, I will be back.
I purchased the Bugout in a G10 configuration and the Deka. While it would be unfair and inaccurate to say 'there is no comparison', As a long-term collector and user of knives (live on a ranch). Deka is my preference on all fronts, especially the new version with reduced screw construction and deep carry pocket clip. Excellent design and reasonably priced materials/quality - Bugout remains overpriced even with upgrades and sale prices. Yes, that's 'just my opinion'.
Blade is sharp out of the box. Lockup is great. Action is buttery smooth. While a bit on the small side, this is a phenomenal knife that I heartily recommend.
My bugout is nice but the Deka blows it away. So much more substantial ... better grip, better steel, better action .... just better. Love this knife in every way. Selling my bugout - the Hogue Deka is my new EDC!
This is an initial impressions review, I may update later after prolonged usage. Build quality is typical Hogue, which is to say top notch. Weight is slightly more than a Bugout and blade thickness is slightly (0.01) greater. The handle is inflexible, unlike Benchmade's pretty little moneymaker. I am very well satisfied.
