The Kansept Knives Higonokami, designed by Goran Mihajlovic, is a refined blend of tradition and modern knife design. Drawing clear inspiration from the classic Japanese Higonokami, it preserves the familiar profile and minimalist character while introducing thoughtful upgrades for today’s users.

Traditional Higonokami knives are known for their straightforward, no-frills construction: a slim handle, a simple folding blade, and a distinctive extension of the blade spine called the Chikiri. This lever acts as both an opening aid and a point of control, giving the user added leverage when deploying and handling the knife. The design has long been appreciated for its simplicity and functional elegance.

Kansept’s interpretation stays true to that recognizable form but evolves it with modern mechanics. The Chikiri-inspired lever is reimagined as a jimped flipper tab, offering improved traction and smooth, one-handed opening.
