Piranha Knives has added the slim, discreet DNA automatic knife to their lineup. The handle is CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum with flared fluting on either side and a subtle 'double-helix' pattern milled along the top side. Together with the flush-mount titanium pocket clip, the texture provides excellent grip. The DNA is a worthy everyday carry folder with a unique, attractive look and feel befitting a gentleman's knife.

Its always nice to be impressed right out of the box and with this knife I was. I have a wide collection of knives, everything from low budget Gerbers and Kershaws to higher end Microtech, ESSE, and Bradford knives. I'm not a knife snob - I just want knives that are high quality and function as intended. This was my first Piranha and I really like it. Some of the things that I liked. - knife is VERY lightweight compared to others of similar size. Lightweight - but feels high quality - action is smooth, button is easy to find with your thumb - action is strong, quick deployment but does not too powerful to launch knife out of hand - comfortable grip and good looking - wife immediately commented " ooh thats a pretty knife" - good strong pocket clip - nice and wide - natural finish on it with no paint so the clip won't get all scratch and worn out looking like most pocket clips I have. - Blade came nice and sharp. Could easily slice printer paper and shave hair off my arm. - I do not have any negative feedback about this knife. I wish the blade had some jipping on the back edge for better control, but it's really not a negative, just a suggestion in case anyone out there is paying attention to reviews.
This knife is one that as soon as I got it into my hands I knew would be amazing. Let me tell you why if you're on the fence you should buy this knife. Pros: It's small yet still fits the hand and offers a great blade Nice and thin behind the edge Great steel SUPER snappy action (if you've never handled a Piranha before then after handing one you'll understand) Good blade shape and size The weight is Amazing (super light due to the aircraft aluminum scales) Great pocket clip The color options are also a plus All in all there are just so many good things about this knife Cons: No disassembly (although being an automatic I kinda get it but still.) The only other con I can think of is not enough people know about this knife. In closing, seriously this is without a doubt one of the BEST automatics that Piranha makes and one of the best on the market, so if you are even thinking about getting one here is my advice. Pick a color, and buy this thing. You will not regret it.
This knife is gorgeous! The aesthetics, light weight and slim design makes this one of my favorite knives to carry
What a beautifully slender knife. The blade flips out with enough authority that you could loose your grip if you're not holding it securely enough. I like how the blade is devoid of any markings. I wish that the pocket clip were deep carry. That is the trend these days and I don't know why more makers don't do it. I've been waiting a while for this particular color (red) to come back into stock, so I jumped on it when it did and WHOOPS, now it's out of stock again. I'm very pleased with it and am enjoying it more each day.
I received this knife as a Christmas gift. Knife seems well built and fires hard like all of the other Piranhas I own. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was the finish on the back of the blade has a slight bit of pitting that could have required a little more polishing.
