Description

Description

This TR-5 automatic model has a black anodized aluminum handle with a two-tone black back spacer/lanyard attachment, and a deep carry tip-up pocket clip. Its blade is made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel in a black finish. A sliding safety lock allows secure pocket carry and prevents accidental blade deployment.

Protech has added an automatic option to their TR-5 line. Similar in design to the TR-4 auto, the TR-5 is smaller and more pocket-friendly.

A perfect edc knife

This is an awesome edc auto knife. The blade shape which I am a big fan of is an all purpose design. The blade steel CPM-S35VN holds its edge far longer than CPM-154. The automatic action is flawless with the blade opening quickly without any recoil and the overall size is just right for edc. When I think Iím going to need a larger blade I take my TR-4.
Now for slight cons. The black coating is not as smooth as a plain blade so it drags a bit cutting cardboard. However Iím sure it will smooth out with use. Also the activation button initially feels like dragging a brick over gravel, rough and bumpy. ( I have found this to be true of all new Pro tech autos. I have three.) BUT it is smoothing out with use. ( If you push the buttons quick you donít feeling anything.)
So if you are thinking about it do you wonít regret it.
