The Pro-Tech Tactical Response 5 (TR-5) is one Pro-Tech's most popular models—and for good reason! It offers a solid four-finger grip with finger grooves that enhance comfort and grip security during use, and its blade flips out with Pro-Tech's renowned authoritative automatic action. It's made in the USA from high-functioning materials to an exacting standard. If you're looking to supplement your kit with an automatic knife, it's hard to recommend one higher than the TR-5.

I put this knife through the ringer over the course of the past 3 years. It's been with me around town, on weeklong backpacking trips, and to the middle east on deployment. I can't speak highly enough of the build quality, fit and finish, and materials. Be aware that the tip gets to be very thin, and isn't suitable for much leverage. I chipped mine just a bit while using it for things other tools are better suited for. Still, a knife is a knife and a prybar is a prybar. This is a 5/5 knife!
I just started collecting late last year. All the Pro-Tech models I was interested in were out of stock until recently. Really like this one! I would like it a little better if there was a little scalloping on the inside of the scales to lighten the handle a little bit but overall it's great!
I have the Pro-Tech TR-3 limited edition, which I love, and this is a great addition to the collection. I like the fish scale handles and as is the case with all Pro-tech's - a great "snap" when opening. I also like the CPM-S35VN blade steel - great knife all the way around.
Another solid protech. I will say, however, that I thought the handle milling was going to be more 3d than just lines milled into the handle. I guess I was expecting something like the we knives dragon scale from their integral. That would have made it a 5/5.
