The QTR-11 "General 2" folder is the first knife of 2016 to make its proud debut. Considered the "pace car" of the knife industry, this Gavin & Grant Hawk collaborative knife utilizes their unique ET locking mechanism. The heavy duty folder has a titanium handle and a modified tanto blade with flipper. The General QTR-11 features an extended pocket clip to facilitate safe, comfortable use. This General model has a "Climate Change" two-tone stonewash/satin finished tanto blade and handle.
It should be this one. It is a design and engineering exercise so deftly executed that you'll want to keep it on your desk or coffee table as an almost unavoidable conversation piece, even for non-knife collectors. Can you carry it? Sure, but this is really more of a collector's knife. An object-lesson of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should--but what the hell, maybe we should anyways, it'll be fun."
I got a General Lee2 when it came out, and it is unique, fun, and a most interesting design with premium lockup and a sweet tanto blade. The super deep pocket clip is appealing. This is a sweet acquisition for a collection.or as a gift to a blade enthusiast. Since there is intricate movement of the frame on deployment, this unit is more fun than practical. If you wear gloves and want a unique strong EDC, you will enjoy the quality and strength and jumping. The key with one hand opening with the flipper is to hold the General at the bottom of the spine. My palm pad below my thumb may get caught in the frame, but that's what makes this unique folder fun to play with. Hope this helps.
Purchased this product a while ago. Wanted to try it out before giving it a review. Works great, as advertised, and so far no problems whatsoever. Would recommend to a friend!”
